Randal Bays and John Coyne Irish concert
Listing Speakeasy presents Celtic maestros Randal Bays and John Coyne in concert!
Randal Bays is a self-taught US-born musician who's been playing Irish fiddle for more than thirty years; he's now widely recognized as a master of that complex, ancient art, with a special love of the traditional styles of Co. Clare and Co. Galway. He's "among the best Irish style fiddlers of his generation", according to Fiddler Magazine. Randal has toured and recorded with many of the great Irish musicians of the day, including James Keane and Daithi Sproule (in the band Fingal), James Kelly, Martin Hayes, Michéal O'Domhnaill and many more.
John Coyne is an excellent bouzouki and guitar player from Limerick, now living in Boston… he's the guy everybody wants to play with and he's performed with too many great Irish musicians to list. He's also a wonderful singer with a lovely repertoire of traditional and almost traditional songs.
The duo will be joined by their sons, 12-year-old Owen Bays, a "dynamite concertina player," and 11-year-old Rory Coyne, "a hellacious accordion player."
