Abigail Dowd and Jason Duff Concert

Singer, songwriter, guitarist Abigail Dowd grew up under the North Carolina longleaf pines and hints of the early Celtic settlers weave through her music. Abigail comes from a long line of musicians. She taught herself to play the guitar at age 14 and went on to study classical guitar with Danny Infantino.

In 2009, with a duffle bag and her guitar, Abigail moved to Florence, Italy, and then to Maine, where she spent five years writing songs and developing her own style. Her lyrics are mesmerizing and her bluesy voice has been described as "a rare thing that is at once strong and generous in its vulnerability." She blends her classical guitar style with the edgy bass and percussion of Jason Duff, a Greensboro native who has been performing for over 25 years.
