The Shortest Day: A Winter Concert
In partnership with The 'Boro Sessions, Doodad Farm presents a special Holiday event right here in the Doodad Farmhouse featuring a group of nationally renowned musicians.
The Shortest Day's musical collective includes Kenny Jackson, Erynn Marshall, Carl Jones, Bobb Head, and Rochelle Moser. Kenny, Erynn, Carl, and Bobb (who occasionally perform together as an old-time string band quartet called The Bow Benders) are all internationally recognized veteran multi-instrumentalists and singers who draw from traditional old-time music as well as new songs and tunes composed by the band's members.
They'll be joined by Rochelle Moser, whose vocal talents encompass both choral music (having been a member of the premier a cappella choir in the US, The St. Olaf Choir) to traditional and newer folk/country with Kenny Jackson, her husband and singing partner.
Together they'll perform an evening of traditional and original string band music, winter songs, and poetic recitation for the winter solstice season, a time of both joyful festivity and quiet reflection.
We're requesting a $20 donation from each of our guests for this unique event. We will gather at 6pm for a potluck dinner.
